Imagine, the rule of law established, evil exposed, and an administration with the power to enforce what is right. It does our hearts good to watch things made right, and it helps us anticipate the coming reign of Christ.
Psalm 2 describes how world rulers are against Christ when He comes to power. They “take counsel together against the LORD, and against His Messiah, saying, ‘Let us break their restraints off us, and cast away their cords (governing laws) from us.”
But the Father’s decree is Law… “Yet have I set My King upon My holy mount of Zion… the nations are His inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth are His possession. He shall break them with a rod of iron; He shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
He warns world rulers… “Be wise now therefore, all you kings. Be instructed, all you judges on earth. Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss (pledge allegiance to) the Son, lest He becomes angry, and you all perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled in a little while. Blessed are all they who put their trust in Him.”
Four times the Bible reminds the world that Christ will “crush to powder” the strongholds of the wicked. The churches are also reminded that those who stand for righteousness with Christ during these days will share in His administration, “to them will I give power over the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they broken to shivers: even as I received from My Father” (Revelation 2:26,27).
Christ’s reign will come. The righteous shall rejoice and the world shall finally know peace through His power. That Day is near.
