Come...

Today is the anniversary of the day Noah entered the Ark. There’s much we already know about Noah’s day, but here are some extra thoughts to consider. God does nothing without giving warning. The earth had been given 120 years notice about that day. It was plenty of time for the world to hear and repent. Yet God has given our world almost 2000 years to come into the Ark of eternal safety in Christ. We should be ready.

Secondly, Noah stood with God against the entire world… “He prepared an Ark to save his household, by which he condemned the world…” (Hebrews 11:7). If you are feeling alone in standing on God’s Word, think how Noah felt. Many today are afraid to speak out against the evil we’re seeing before our eyes because they’re afraid of the opinions of others. We should be encouraged that taking God’s side against a wicked world is the safest place to be.

But there is another truth about Noah’s day. It’s God’s promise of “Never Again” to Israel… “For this is as the waters of Noah to Me: for as I have sworn that the waters shall no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I will not be wroth with you, nor rebuke you. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed (in judgment), but My kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed, says the Lord that has mercy on you.” (Isaiah 54). We should stand firm on God’s eternal love for Israel and His promise that the nations which gather against her shall fall (see the rest of Isaiah 54!).

It's thrilling to know that very soon Jesus will say, “Come, for all things are now ready.”
